Escape plan(ning blog)

 Location-

I need a clean-looking office or cubicle, and a residential kitchen. Additionally, I'll need a gravelly area with a large rock, where the prisoner in my movie will be working. I plan to find this using google earth, locating a vacant lot near me. There is one place I can think of, but I don't know how it'll work or how realistic it'll look to the film. There's a spot with a bunch of old railway cement which we can "hack away at", using the prisoner. The attached picture is from google street view and is from a while back, so the concrete slabs aren't there.

Costuming-

I plan for the prisoner to have two outfits- In flashbacks, we see him sharply dressed in a suit, symbolizing his power in his position. As a prisoner, he will be seen in the iconic prison look, either being an orange jumpsuit or a black and white striped shirt and pants. For the wife, I'd want her dressed in white pants and a colored blouse, regardless of the color. He'll be dressed in brown pants, work boots, and a badge with a hat for the prison guard.

Props-

I'll need a pickaxe, a prop rifle, maybe a baby prop. Additionally, I'd like to have the prisoner in ankle and handcuffs, just as an extra little touch.

Schedule-

I don't have a set schedule, but I plan to take 1-2 days to film over our spring break. This is from the 17th to the 28th of March. This gives me ample time to set everything up, figure it all out, shoot, edit, reshoot, do anything needed. One of these days will also be partially used for voiceover recording, which I plan on using sparingly. I think it'll add good background to my film.

Backup and safety-

Being that this set is near a train track, it may be a little risky to film there. That being said, I'm working to find a backup location fairly nearby. In terms of safety, the train crossing will start dinging approximately 30 seconds before a train arrives, providing us with a good time to get a safe distance away from the concrete slabs, even though they're about 15 feet away from the tracks. Additionally, we will have someone on-hand to call 911 if necessary, which I don't believe will happen.
