Lights, Camera, Action Pt. 1

Today, I began my filming. I gathered my lovely actor and actress and went to my filming location. The first, and easiest scene to shoot is the second, taking place in my living room. I got this donee rather quickly. First, I trailed Eric (spence) upstairs, before he began to turn a corner. There, I stopped rolling and moved to another part of my house, with a similar corner that turns into the living room. There, I began rolling again and followed my actor around the corner. Then, I filmed them hugging before they sat and dialogue began. In reviewing all the footage at the end of the day, the audio actually turned out alright. This first day of filming was actually rather easy. I was able to knock out about a third of my whole film in a couple hours. There wasn't anything too complex about this part of filming except for the diegetic knocking sound at the end of the sequence. I was home alone with my two actors, and we'd needed a fourth person in order to get the knocking right. In order to do this, I had to enlist the help of my neighbor. She was an annoying expense, as she refused to do the knocking for any less than five dollars. That was the one hiccup today. Additionally, this was the only scene requiring LaNora as a character. This means my actress, KC may take over some filming, with me still directing in other days. Realistically, I'll only need one more filming day.
